Cleated Feet and a Bunch of Soccer Balls
The Biddeford Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Fall Soccer.
Due to Covid-19, we are following recommendations from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development and guidance from the Maine Principals Association.
The intention of the Biddeford Recreation Department is to provide the information and guidance necessary to assure and protect the health and safety of everyone and mitigate the possible spread of the Corona virus while offering youth sports programs.

General Information
  • Soccer Season
  • We will focus on skills and drills to learn the fundamentals of soccer. We'll look to play in-house games if we have enough players for each grade level.
  • We are tentatively planning for inter-community game play with Saco and Old Orchard Beach later in the season, as long as health trends regarding Covid-19 in our area are favorable and will allow to play against these communities.
  • The girls program will meet on Tuesday’s and Thursday's.
  • The boys program will meet on Monday’s and Wednesday’s.
  • Practice times will be 5:30pm - 6:30pm for grades 1-4 at St. Louis Field.
  • Practice times for grades 5/6 will be 5:30pm - 6:45pm at St. Louis Field B.
  • Equipment Needed: Shin Guards, Sneakers or cleats
  • Volunteer coaches will be needed at all levels
  • The Last Day of Registration is September 17th, 2020

Covid-19 Prevention Protocol
For Players:
1. Prior to arriving to field, Parents will be responsible to conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation). Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home.
2. Mask must be worn when arriving to the field. When active practice and gameplay- masks can be off for players.
3. On sidelines during games or instruction- masks must be on for players, coaches and spectators.

For Parents/Spectators:
1. Limit 2 parent/spectator per player permitted for practice or games.
2. ensure they wear mask and maintain social distancing.
3. Must stay on sidelines.

Equipment Procedures:
1. Any shared equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between practices using the same cleaning agents utilized in Biddeford Rec Camps.

These guidelines may be changed to reflect updates with Governor's orders or changes with Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, MPA or CDC guidelines.
