The Biddeford Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Youth Recreation Winter Basketball program for Boys and Girls in Grades 1-6!
Our goal is to provide Biddeford youth with a positive, enthusiastic and team-oriented approach to developing skills, knowledge and values needed to play the game of basketball. This program is geared towards teaching basketball fundamentals with an emphasis on good sportsmanship, fun, and fostering young players' physical, mental, and social-emotional growth.
Teams are determined by grade and gender, with three divisions offered for 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, and 5th & 6th. Practice times and days will depend on the number of teams and gym availability. Games will be held on Saturday's varying in times, beginning January 4th, 2025 through February 15th, 2025. Games are typically scheduled with other regional communities including Saco, OOB and Kennebunkport/Arundel, so there will be some local travel required.
Registration is open through Sunday, November 10th. Registrations received after this date will be subject to a $5.00 late fee for teams that have seats available. Don't wait to sign up!
Grades 1-6 Tentative Schedule Info
The following is a tentative schedule for practice day assignments this season. Teams may have 1 or 2 practices per week on the days list below. Our goal is to stay as close to this schedule as possible, however final assignments are subject to volunteer coaches' availability and gym space. Biddeford Recreation reserves the right to adjust practice day assignments as needed.
Season Dates: November 18th, 2024 through February 15th, 2025.
Boys Division Teams: proposed practice days Monday/Wednesday at the J. Richard Martin Community Center
Girls Division Teams: proposed practice days Tuesday/Thursday at the J. Richard Martin Community Center
Season Overview: Season dates in November and December will be weekday practices only. To accommodate all teams, practices may be scheduled between 5:00-8:00PM. The schedule is subject to change based on the total number of teams created in each division and volunteer coaches' availability. Games begin for Grades 1-6 in January 4th, 2025.
Registration fee for 2024-2025 season
- Registration Fee: $60.00 resident/$70.00 non-resident
- Registration is open through Sunday, November 10th, 2024 as space is available.
- Registrations received after November 10th will be subject to a $5.00 late charge for teams that still have seats available.
Volunteer Coaches
