Discover the wonders of Earthcaching: A unique way to explore nature

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

If you are a nature lover, you might want to try out Earthcaching.  Learn more by joining us for a two-mile hike in Clifford Park to visit a waterfall Earthcache.  An Earthcache is a type of geocache that involves visiting a geological feature and answering questions related to the geological feature or processes present at the location. Earthcaches provide an opportunity for individuals and families alike to get outside and learn something new while enjoying nature.

This is an entry level program designed for those who want to learn more about Earthcaching. We will use a mobile phone-based application to learn about waterfall geology.   The geocaching application and a geocaching account are needed to participate.  Please plan to have one device per family/group.  Visit the Geocaching 101 website (https://www.geocaching.com/sites/education/en/) to download the application and to setup your free account.
Plan to meet in the Clifford Park parking lot at 130 Pool Street.  Bring snowshoes and/or ice cleats, if you have them.  Snowshoes will be available to borrow.  The hike itself is approximately 2 miles round trip with some small elevation changes.  Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
