A parkrun is a FREE, weekly, timed, 5 kilometer run, jog or walk, open to all members of our community. parkruns are volunteer led community events that are supported by the parkrun non-profit organization. parkruns are currently operating in over 2500 locations worldwide.Eastern Trail parkrun Biddeford will take place at 9am every Saturday morning on the Eastern Trail located behind the SMMC Hospital. Parking and access to the start/finish line on the Eastern Trail is available in the SMMC parking lot (Medical Center Drive, Biddeford, 04005). Registration through the parkrun website is required. Registration for PreK Basketball is now open!The Biddeford Recreation PreK Basketball program is open to participants ages 4 and 5 years old. Children will be taught the basic skills needed to be successful on the court, while also developing fine motor skills and building on teamwork. This is a fun activity that can be played by all ages. Pickleball is fun, social and friendly! The rules are fairly simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. Beginners are welcome to join us and learn the game!! Whats it all about?The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. Biddeford Recreation is excited to offer our newest Yoga class: Gentle Yoga! Classes begin Monday, October 21st, 2024!Gentle Yoga is a perfect practice for anyone of any age or physical ability. You may find yourself flowing from pose to pose or staying in a pose for a longer amount of time. Without a doubt you’ll be stretching, breathing and feeling rejuvenated. Instructor for this class is Jana Gudschinsky. Jana is an experienced yoga teacher with over 12 years of teaching a variety of Yoga classes. Jana is passionate about helping her students to find balance in their practice and her classes are known to be challenging and supportive.

Yin Yang Yoga - Yin Yang Yoga
Yin/Yang Yoga is a practice that balances a slow paced Yin with a traditional Hatha Yoga. Yin is a passive cooling energy, whereas Yang is more dynamic and warming. This is a 1 hour class. We will start in Yang for warming up our body and releasing energy, then we will make our way to a more calming practice in Yin. Please bring your own mat, towel and water bottle. Yin/Yang Yoga is a practice that balances a slow paced Yin with a traditional Hatha Yoga. Yin is a passive cooling energy, whereas Yang is more dynamic and warming. This is a 1 hour class. This is a fun activity that can be played by all ages. Pickleball is fun, social and friendly! The rules are fairly simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. Beginners are welcome to join us and learn the game!! Whats it all about?The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer smaller version of a wiffle ball. It can be played by 2 or 4 players.

Yin Yang Yoga - Yin Yang Yoga
Yin/Yang Yoga is a practice that balances a slow paced Yin with a traditional Hatha Yoga. Yin is a passive cooling energy, whereas Yang is more dynamic and warming. This is a 1 hour class. We will start in Yang for warming up our body and releasing energy, then we will make our way to a more calming practice in Yin. Please bring your own mat, towel and water bottle. This is a fun activity that can be played by all ages. Pickleball is fun, social and friendly! The rules are fairly simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. Beginners are welcome to join us and learn the game!! Whats it all about?The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. Registration is now open for the Biddeford Recreation Travel Basketball 2024-2025 Season! This program is open to basketball players in Grades 3-4 & 5-6. This season, our program will participate in the Southern Maine Hoops League. The league has options of divisions that include single grades and combined grades. For parents, as you determine which basketball program level is best suited for your child, please consider the following: The Travel Basketball program is designed for athletes who would like to play in a more competitive league in the Southern Maine area.Players trying out for travel should have prior experience in recreation or travel basketball.Travel Basketball includes an evaluation process - see details below. All players interested in playing on a Biddeford Recreation Travel Team are required to attend the evaluation night. The Biddeford Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Youth Recreation Winter Basketball program for Boys and Girls in Grades 1-6!Our goal is to provide Biddeford youth with a positive, enthusiastic and team-oriented approach to developing skills, knowledge and values needed to play the game of basketball. This program is geared towards teaching basketball fundamentals with an emphasis on good sportsmanship, fun, and fostering young players' physical, mental, and social-emotional growth.Teams are determined by grade and gender, with three divisions offered for 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, and 5th & 6th. Practice times and days will depend on the number of teams and gym availability. Games will be held on Saturday's varying in times, beginning January 4th, 2025 through February 15th, 2025. Games are typically scheduled with other regional communities including Saco, OOB and Kennebunkport/Arundel, so there will be some local travel required.Registration is open through Friday, November 15th. This is a fun activity that can be played by all ages. Pickleball is fun, social and friendly! The rules are fairly simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. Beginners are welcome to join us and learn the game!! Whats it all about?The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer smaller version of a wiffle ball. It can be played by 2 or 4 players.

Yin Yang Yoga - Yin Yang Yoga
Yin/Yang Yoga is a practice that balances a slow paced Yin with a traditional Hatha Yoga. Yin is a passive cooling energy, whereas Yang is more dynamic and warming. This is a 1 hour class. We will start in Yang for warming up our body and releasing energy, then we will make our way to a more calming practice in Yin. Please bring your own mat, towel and water bottle. Whats it all about?The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer smaller version of a wiffle ball. It can be played by 2 or 4 players.

Basketball, Recreation - Grades 1-6 Divisions - Girls Basketball Grades 1-2: 2024-2025 Season: Girls 1st/2nd @ Practice
The Biddeford Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Youth Recreation Winter Basketball program for Boys and Girls in Grades 1-6!Our goal is to provide Biddeford youth with a positive, enthusiastic and team-oriented approach to developing skills, knowledge and values needed to play the game of basketball. This program is geared towards teaching basketball fundamentals with an emphasis on good sportsmanship, fun, and fostering young players' physical, mental, and social-emotional growth.Teams are determined by grade and gender, with three divisions offered for 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, and 5th & 6th. Practice times and days will depend on the number of teams and gym availability. Games will be held on Saturday's varying in times, beginning January 4th, 2025 through February 15th, 2025. Games are typically scheduled with other regional communities including Saco, OOB and Kennebunkport/Arundel, so there will be some local travel required.Registration is open through Friday, November 15th. Registrations received after this date will be subject to a $5.00 late fee for teams that have seats available. Don't wait to sign up!

Join us for the 2024-2025 season of Men's Volleyball!The Biddeford Men's Volleyball League will play at the Community Center Gym. The season will consist of regular season matches and a single elimination playoff tournament at the end.
